This bar graph shows that the annual per capita out of pocket dental costs increased from $10.2 in 1960 to $20.2 in 1970 to $38.3 in 1980 to $60.4 in 1990 to $92.3 in 1999. The private insurance per capita dental costs rose from $0.2 in 1960 to $1.0 in 1970 to $16.7 in 1980 to $59.9 in 1990 to $100.0 in 1999. The total public funds per capita dental costs rose from $0.1 in 1960 to $1.0 in 1970 to $2.8 in 1980 to $3.5 in 1990 to $9.3 in 1999.
